Every surrogacy journey is different.
The timelines for surrogacy journeys can vary greatly depending on how quickly a match happens, whether there are delays in background checks and medical clearances, and whether or not an embryo transfers successfully during a first, second, or third attempt. Below are two actual journeys from previous and current surrogates. One highlights a simple journey, and one depicts a longer one.
An Example of a Simpler Journey
The following represents one of our surrogate’s journeys through delivery. We consider this a simple journey because there were no clearance or medical complications, and because the embryo transferred successfully on the first try.
Our surrogate first reached out to us on this date.
Her background check was received and approved.
Her medical records were approved on this date.
Her match with her intended parents was made official!
This was the date of her medical screening.
This was the date of her psych screening.
She entered into a contract with her IPs on this date.
She began transfer medications.
The date of her first transfer!
She took her first blood test to confirm pregnancy.
The baby's heartbeat was confirmed!
She delivered a beautiful baby for her IPs!
An Example of a More Complicated Journey
